Each Spring there is a pair of geese, I fondly call Mama and Papa Goose, who raise their annual family here and it is such an amazing thing to watch! Mama Goose spends about a week building her nest and although she builds that nest on another bank of the pond, I watch intently everyday as she lays on her eggs so faithfully and await their arrival to our bank. Finally, because it’s like waiting for Christmas, they came waddling up into the yard and as always, they have brought much joy to our home!

They will grow quickly and become such a “spitting image” of their mama and papa that we won’t be able to tell them apart from the other 60-70 geese that come to the pond regularly in the Fall. The gathering of the crazy high number of other geese always bring a challenge in the Fall but until then we shall enjoy the goose family and be thankful that they chose our home and property to be theirs for this brief moment in the Spring and Summer!
