A Useful Birthday Gift – Kitchen Tool

Recently I celebrated my 47th birthday! My mom and I met at our favorite breakfast place* to celebrate! She brought many gifts for me but one of them was a great new kitchen gadget that I love and want to share with you!

Because of my flourishing hens, we have lots of eggs! I sell a few dozen each week and then have plenty still for me and Steve. He prefers them on weekend mornings for breakfast with sausage or bacon. I eat them more often; mostly to accompany My Salad Habit! Hard Boiled Eggs can be eaten alone as a snack, mixed into a protein/mayo based mixture like tuna and chicken salad, or make an attractive presentation on a greens salad. I love eggs any and every way…. preparing and consuming them reminds me that our hens are a provision from the Lord.

The week before my birthday, mom called me just as I was preparing tuna salad. In response to here question, “What are you up to?“, I was complaining that my egg slicer wires were bent and it was difficult to operate (1st world problems, I know). My mom, being the thoughtful savvy shopper that she is, remembered my complaint and included this 2 in 1 Egg Slicer in my birthday gifts. I really like it because you can slice the egg two different ways; one cuts as a wedge and the other as a slice. For me, even a third way with this cool gadget, turning the egg in the slicer both ways to dice for Tuna Salad! I do want to note that in the description of this gadget it says that it will cut all kinds of fruit but I haven’t tried it out yet. I could certainly see how it could be efficient and useful for fruit.

I had a great birthday and I am always thankful for another year! I have so many blessings in my life; many many gifts from God! Even this little egg slicer!

* For Cobb County local people – REVEILLE is our favorite place! They have a delicious selection of traditionally breakfast items, “brunchy”  plates, plenty to satisfy a sweet tooth and really good coffee!
